Thank you for shopping with Valeria Danilova. This page explains how shipping, returns, custom orders, live events, privacy and our terms work. Questions? Email hello@valeriadanilova.ca.
Valeria Danilova is a calligraphy, engraving and hot-foil studio based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We offer three things:
- Ready-to-ship products – finished pieces available to buy now.
- Custom and personalized pieces – handwritten letters, wedding certificates, vow art, engraved items and more.
- Live events and brand activations – live calligraphy and engraving at brand events and weddings.
All prices on our website are in US dollars (USD).
Shipping
Where we ship
- Canada and the United States: free shipping on every order.
- All other countries: a flat rate of US$15 per order.
Processing times
- Ready-to-ship products typically ship within 1–6 business days of your order.
- Custom pieces have production times stated on each product page. Production begins once any required proof or details are approved.
Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Canadian statutory holidays.
Delivery times
After your order ships, typical delivery estimates are:
- Canada: 2–8 business days
- United States: 4–10 business days
- International: 6–15 business days
All orders ship with Canada Post tracking. Delivery times are estimates and aren't guaranteed. You'll get a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number.
Customs, duties and taxes
For orders shipped outside Canada, customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or brokerage fees charged by their country. These are not included in our prices or shipping costs. Unpaid or refused packages are not eligible for a refund.
Address accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We're not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer.
Returns & Refunds
All sales are final. Because our pieces are handmade, and many are personalized, we do not accept returns or exchanges on ready-to-ship or custom items.
If something goes wrong
We'll make it right if:
- your item arrives damaged,
- you receive the wrong item, or
- your package is lost in transit.
How to let us know
Email hello@valeriadanilova.ca within 7 days of delivery (or, for a lost package, within 7 days of the expected delivery date). Please include:
- your order number,
- clear photos of the item and the packaging (for damaged or wrong items), and
- a short description of the issue.
What happens next
Once we review your request, we'll offer a replacement or a full refund, at our discretion. You won't need to send a damaged or wrong item back unless we ask. Approved refunds go to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days; your bank may take a few extra days to post it.
Issues reported after 7 days, or problems caused by normal use, misuse or errors in details you approved (see Custom Orders), are not eligible.
Custom Orders
Your details and proofs
For custom and personalized pieces, you're responsible for providing accurate details – names, dates, spelling, wording, colours and sizes. Where a proof or approval is offered, please check it carefully before you approve it. Once you approve a proof or confirm your details, production begins and we can't be responsible for errors in the approved content.
Changes and cancellations
Because custom work is made just for you, custom orders can't be cancelled or refunded once production has started. If you need a change, email us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help before production begins.
Handmade character
Every piece is made by hand. Small variations in lettering, ink, foil, engraving depth and materials are part of the charm and aren't considered defects.
Live Events & Bookings
Payment
Live calligraphy, engraving and brand activation bookings require full payment upfront to secure your date.
Cancellations
- Cancelled 30 or more days before the event: full refund.
- Cancelled less than 30 days before the event: non-refundable.
Rescheduling
Need a new date? We're happy to reschedule, subject to availability. Please contact us as early as possible.
Travel and venue requirements
Travel, accommodation and venue requirements (such as table space, power and lighting) are quoted per event and included in your quote.
Your quote or contract
Each event has its own quote or contract. If anything in it conflicts with this page, the quote or contract for that event governs.
Privacy
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
What we collect
- Contact form and inquiries: your name, email, phone number (if given) and message.
- Orders: your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, order details and personalization details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
- Website usage: device, browser and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
To fulfil and ship orders, create custom pieces, respond to inquiries, plan events, send order updates, improve our website and, with your consent, measure and show our advertising.
Tools we use
- Squarespace – hosts our website, store and forms.
- Google Analytics – helps us understand how visitors use the site.
- Google Ads tags – measure ad performance and may show our ads to past visitors.
- Meta Pixel – measures ads on Facebook and Instagram and may show our ads to past visitors.
These providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
Cookie choices
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you agree. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie Settings at the bottom of each page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Sharing
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business (such as hosting, payments and shipping carriers), or when required by law.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal, tax and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it and will notify you and the authorities if a breach poses a risk of serious harm.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or (for Quebec residents) request a copy in a portable format. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Terms
Pricing and errors
We work hard to keep prices and product details accurate. If an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information, we may cancel the order and refund any payment in full. Prices may change without notice, but changes won't affect orders already confirmed.
Intellectual property
All designs, lettering, artwork, photos and text on this website and in our products belong to Valeria Danilova. Purchasing a piece gives you the item itself for personal use, not the right to copy, reproduce or resell the design. Please ask before using our work commercially.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes
We may update these policies from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version.
