Hand Engraving in Toronto
Live, on-site hand engraving for luxury brand activations, corporate gifting, and private events. Permanent, precise personalization on glass, metal, and crystal — created by hand, in front of your guests. Trusted by Dior, Prada, and Balenciaga
What Is Hand Engraving?
Hand engraving is the art of carving a design directly into a surface by hand — no laser, no stencil, no mass production. Using a precision micro-motor tool, each letter and flourish is cut into the material itself, creating permanent personalization with real depth and dimension that catches the light.
Because it's done freehand, hand engraving adapts to curved bottles, delicate flacons, and irregular surfaces a laser can't handle gracefully — and it carries the unmistakable character of a human hand. The result isn't a printed label or a sticker. It's a mark that becomes part of the object, made to last a lifetime.
Hand engraving vs. laser engraving:
Laser engraving is fast and uniform but mechanical. Hand engraving is slower and bespoke, which is exactly why luxury brands choose it for activations where the craft is the experience guests come to watch.
Live On-Site Engraving for Brand Activations & Events
I bring a sleek, fully portable engraving station directly to your event — and it requires no power outlet. Guests watch their name, initials, or a custom message carved into the product in real time, then take home a one-of-a-kind keepsake. It turns a product into a gift, gives guests a reason to stay at your space, and generates the kind of social content every activation budget is chasing.
Live engraving works beautifully for:
Luxury brand activations and product launches
In-store and retail personalization experiences
Corporate gifting events and client appreciation
PR and press gifting events
VIP customer events and private functions
Holiday activations and seasonal promotions
In-Studio Engraving & Custom Commissions
Not every project happens live. For bulk corporate gifting, pre-event personalization, or bespoke commissions, products can be sent to my Toronto studio and engraved in advance — then shipped back ready to gift. Studio work allows for more intricate designs, longer messages, and decorative detail than is possible in a live setting.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Engraving physically carves the design into the surface using a hand-held tool, creating depth you can feel. Etching is a chemical process that uses acid to create a frosted, matte mark on glass only. Engraving works on many surfaces and produces a more dimensional, premium result. Not sure which suits your project? Send me a note and I'll advise.
-
Yes. Engraving produces a permanent carving in the material itself — it won't peel, fade, or wash off like a sticker or printed label. For glassware that will be heavily washed, I'll recommend leaving decorative wax fills off so the result stays pristine for years.

I bring a fully portable, professional engraving station that requires no power outlet and suits luxury retail environments. The setup is compact and tastefully arranged to complement your event aesthetic.
-
Yes. Because the work is freehand, I can engrave curved and cylindrical surfaces — wine glasses, bottles, flacons, and rings — that laser machines struggle with.
-
Yes. I'm based in North York, Toronto and regularly work across the GTA and beyond. Travel is included in your quote based on the venue location.

The micro-motor tool is quiet — comparable to a desktop printer. It produces a small amount of fine dust and minimal noise, and is well suited to live retail and event environments with no special soundproofing needed.
-
Carbonated bottles such as champagne and sparkling wine are not recommended for engraving — it can be personalized with a pen and ink calligraphy instead. For leather goods, luggage tags, journals, and other soft-touch pieces, I recommend hot foiling instead.
